A simple, old-fashioned recipe for zeppoles made with store-bought pizza dough, fried until golden brown, and generously sprinkled with granulated sugar, reminiscent of a classic carnival treat.

Grab some pizza dough, pinch it into smaller pieces and drop them into hot oil. Use a mix of vegetable and olive oil, about the depth of 3 inches in a pot or pan with high sides. Get your oil hot, and brown/fry the dough on both both sides. Make sure to top with sugar immediately as they come out of the oil!
