Summer Pasta Salad with Basil Balsamic Dressing

This is a go-to creamy basil and balsamic pasta salad, perfect for BBQs and great for lunch leftovers. The dressing gets extra flavor from pesto and mayonnaise helps it adhere to the pasta. It's best served after chilling and re-seasoning.

1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and let cool slightly. 2. In a large bowl, whisk together the 3/4 cup olive oil, 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar, 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1 1/2 tablespoons pesto, 1/2 cup fresh basil, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper to create the dressing. 3. Add the cooked pasta to the dressing and toss gently until all pasta is well coated. 4. Place the pasta salad in the fridge to chill for about 20-30 minutes. 5. After chilling, add the halved cherry tomatoes and halved mozzarella balls over top. 6. Drizzle with an additional tablespoon of olive oil and then a tablespoon more of balsamic vinegar. Add salt and pepper to taste. 7. Mix all ingredients together gently until well coated before serving.
