Figs with Parmesan Laced Whipped Cream
Serves 615 mins prep0 mins cook
I saw these beautiful figs in Trader Joe’s and I could not pass them up! They make the best appetizer, sweet or savory! This time I decided to slice them open, but not all the way through, then pipe in a Parmesan laced whipped cream. Sounds fancy but it's really easy!

What you need

tsp black pepper

pinch kosher salt

splash balsamic glaze
bunch arugula leaves

bunch fresh basil leaves

cup heavy whipping cream

fresh figs

slice prosciutto
Instructions
1. Prepare the figs: Carefully slice each fig open, but not all the way through, creating a pocket for the filling. 2. Make the Parmesan Laced Whipped Cream: In a bowl, combine 1 cup heavy whipping cream, 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp of grated Parmesan Reggiano cheese, 1/4 tsp black pepper, and a pinch of kosher salt. 3. Whip the cream: Use a hand mixer to whip the mixture at a medium speed until it forms stiff peaks. 4. Create a piping bag: Cut the tip of a small Ziploc bag and fill it with the prepared whipped cream. 5. Fill the figs: Use the DIY piping bag to fill each sliced fig with the Parmesan laced whipped cream. 6. Arrange and serve: Arrange the filled figs on a serving platter. For bonus points, serve them on a bed of arugula with slices of prosciutto. Sprinkle fresh basil over top and drizzle with some balsamic glaze before serving.View original recipe
